Navient Lead Credit Risk Analyst in Wilmington, Delaware

The Lead CRM Analyst of the CRM team is responsible for the development of SQL, SAS, and/or Visual Basic solutions and the ongoing technical support of these reports/models. This position is responsible for developing stable, scalable, and efficient solutions. The incumbent will be involved in large project coordination that crosses over systems and platforms in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders. They must be able to work closely with business groups and lead/coordinate the work of other technical team members.

The Lead CRM Analyst will coordinate with the CRM Director to identify needs through user requirements, create technical design approach/detail documents and develop the solutions required to implement into production.

This individual will be responsible for developing end to end solutions/models that require taking a general idea and mapping each step of a process out so "smart macro" logic can be employed to help automate manual tasks. Each step must be thoroughly documented and approved in accordance with the business, compliance and legal guidelines, and must mimic top performing individuals that are working these tasks manually today.

The incumbent will provide mentoring and cross-training to team members, along with providing training materials for best demonstrated practices in programming/modeling design patterns. The individual will be responsible for identifying and enforcing these design patterns. They must provide technical leadership, clarity and direction for on-site development resources. This individual will be responsible to present updates to senior executive managers.

The success of this position will be measured by the success of this individual's efforts in the usability, quality, and timeliness of reporting/model delivery, and their ability to communicate effectively to all impacted groups.

a. Provide mentorship and guidance to all development positions inside and outside the direct reporting & forecasting line

  1. Delivery Management

a. Serve as the delivery manager of various business-driven projects with complete end to end responsibility from requirements gathering and change management to requirements on-time submission and review b. Assist in the evaluation, planning, and assigning of developer resource capacity c. Utilize advanced SQL, SAS, and/or Visual Basic skills to build automated scripts that can identify system exception tasks and process them in the same manner as an individual would process them manually. d. Manage, analyze, & report developer resource capacity and assignments for portfolio planning purposes e. Create and maintain critical development templates, processes and procedures f. Work closely with technical leads and stakeholders to determine project feasibility, manage scope, and improve throughput g. Effectively communicate with clients and other stakeholders to manage expectations and delivery timeframes

  1. Project Management

a. Develop use cases, flow charts, and narratives to effectively capture and communicate business needs b. Partner with internal and external clients to define and translate business requirements in accordance with legal and compliance guidelines c. Able to prioritize multiple tasks, managing conflicting deadlines and work effectively and efficiently in a dynamic environment. d. Identify opportunities for improvement within current recurring tracking, monitoring, modeling, and reporting procedures. e. Working with business and finance stakeholders, produce cost benefit and ROI analysis for projects f. Lead requirements gathering/technical design and review meetings with internal and external stakeholders g. Provide means to report weekly progress across all initiatives assigned to the team

  1. Technical Improvement

a. Drive best practices for development, documentation, and delivery function b. Identify opportunities to re-factor code and infrastructure environments to enable greater flexibility, scalability, reliability, and efficiency. c. Provide ongoing support on issues relating to partner testing and use cases, audit and compliance requests, process management, and industry best practices that impact processes across the enterprise.

  • 5+ years of business experience to include the following:
  • 4-5 years working experience with SAS and/or SQL through platforms such as PC SAS, Enterprise Guide or Toad for Business Analysts
  • 5-7 years of development and/or modeling experience
  • Bachelor's Degree - Information Systems, Project Management, Mathematics, Business Analysis or Statistics
  • Proven experience analyzing reports and generating conclusions and recommendations for the business areas
  • Proven ability to compile and present data for the business areas that address specific process related questions or issues
  • Strong working knowledge of the general financial services, the loan industry and its products
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Procedural analysis
  • Information engineering/Data mapping
  • Understanding of software development life cycle and change management processes
